The Taiwan Studies Workshop at the John K. Fairbank Center, Harvard University is initiating a short-term visiting fellows program for individuals who havefinished, or are just finishing, their Ph.D degree on a topic related to Taiwan. The program is supported by a grant from the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange.

The Center will provide transportation and living expenses for a week's stay in Cambridge during the spring of 2003. The fellow will be invited to present her/his research findings in a paper to be presented at the Center and published on its Taiwan Studies web site. In addition, the Center will assist in providing access to research materials and scholars in the Boston area.

Candidates should send an application briefly describing their academic background and research topic as well as the names of three referees to Taiwan Studies Workshop, The Fairbank Center, Harvard University, 1737 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02138. The consideration of applications will begin on February 1, 2003.
