Dear Hui-ming:

As requested by Dr. TiuN Hok-chu, you are now a member of TGB (Tai-gu-bang, Taiwanese Language Network). From now on you will receive 5 or 6 (sometimes even more) e-mails from TGB () daily, and 95% of them are written in POJ (Peh-oe-ji).

Welcome to TGB !!

I am è¬æ å(Jessica Hsieh), an elementary scool
teacher who teaches in bilingual education program in
Fu-tong elementary school. I have been teaching
English for 3.5 yerars and had a master degree in
bilingual edcation. Since the special experience I
encountered in the USA, I decided to research the
relationship among three languages (Tainwanese,
Mandarin, and English) in the elementary school.
I would like to raise some questions wandering in my
mind.... (if it's appropriate) "why some teachers
abandon Mandarin (not to mention Taiwanese) in the
English classroom as many experts approves the
importance of the first language?", "Why teachers
choose to switch their languages between Mandarin and
English instead of among three languages (Mandarin,
English, and Taiwanese)?", "what's students' feeling
toward language use in three languages?"

Hi,

In recent years, I will focus my research in
"language and power" of our society or
education
sites. The one you sent is strongly related and
I
can
cite in the paper. If the information you will
forward
is related to the topic. Please add my name in
the
list. And thank you for your asking.
