Hello Everybody!
My name is Jason Cox, and a few months ago you may have received an e-mail
from me about joining a project to create a Taiwanese Language Input Method
Plug-in for Macintosh.
The project is complete. Using the Church Romanization (aka Peh-oe-ji ç½è©±
å or Tai-oan-ji å°ç£å), anyone with the Traditional Language Kit installed
can input Big-5 characters by inputting the POJ. The input method is tone
optional and allows many phrases, with a total of over 30,000 entries in the
datafile that makes up the basis for the input (special thanks to Robert
Cheng for providing the database, and to Aki Abe for making corrections).
You can download the input method plug-in for free, with an instructive read
me. Suggestions for improvements and additions to the input method are
ALWAYS welcome, and we will continue to expand as suggestions roll in (send
suggetions to or .
You can download starting tonight from (and link to) <http://www.taioan.com/>
Or right now from
<http://www.geocities.com/stoical16m.geo/> (my own site's address).
I've also created and made available a Hakka input method with 8,000
characters (datafile courtesy of Professor Liu Zinfad), but that file
currently does not allow phrase input. That will change in the near future,
when Professor Liu Zinfad sends me an update to the hakka file. Feel free
to link to my site or taioan.com. We'd like to spread the word about these
input methods as soon as possible!
Additionally, I have placed the file on my own site (along with some
tentative instructions on how to input POJ with Unicode).
Thanks a lot!
