Dear colleagues,

with this message we would like to let you know about the First Conference on the Endangered Languages of East Asia (CELEA1), that will be held from May 6th to May 7th, 2020 and hosted by the Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy.

The scope of the Conference is on any indigenous, endangered, or minority language that is spoken in the territories of Japan, China, Korea, the Russian Far-East, Mongolia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Furthermore, as the overall topic for this first meeting of CELEA we have chosen language obsolescence (i.e. language loss). We welcome any contributions, as both oral presentations or posters, that deal with any aspect/form of language obsolescence in an indigenous, endangered, or minority language of East Asia.

You can find the call for this conference uploaded on LinguistList by following this link, and you can also refer to the conference website where information about the event is constantly updated.

We would be most thankful if you would consider sharing the information about CELEA1 with whomever might be interested in this event.

Thanking you very much for your time and help,

Our best regards

--
